    Debian Mouse Problem

I recently reinstalled Debian 3.0r1 and seem to have everything configured except for the mouse. I have a 2 buttton Microsoft IntelliMouse with the scroll wheel.

Once everything is configured, and I type startx , KDE opens but then crash with an error message:

Can not open /dev/input/mice, No such device

But when I go and view /dev/input directory, I see the mice device listed along with other devices named mouse0, mouse1 etc etc etc.

I've tried it with the scroll wheel active and without it active also on port psaux since it's a ps/2 mouse.

Any ideas on how to fix this?

    Thnx.
