Knoppix Problem #1

My sound card is picked up by Knoppix but cannot get any sound to come out at all. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!

Pardon my ignorance - but where do I check? With SuSE and MDK I never had to check - it was picked up automatically. I notice with Debian-based systems (and Redhat 8.0) there is no sound. (I'll say one thing - trying out all the different flavors is sure teaching me about Linux).

doh! sry,
try a /sbin/lsmod and look for sound stuff, sb live use emu10k1

OK - looked in and found:

"cmpci 33,428 1
soundcore 3,396 4 [cmpci]"

These are the only two sound items listed.
