    KDE 3.1 Released

KDE 3.1 has been offically released with a whole host of new features including tabbed browsing for Konqueror, a download manager, VNC enabled desktop sharing, new usability features, and much more. Check out the release statement http://www.kde.org/announcements/announce-3.1.html#changes and get the packages from the closest mirror http://www.kde.org/ftpmirrors.html.

    Re:KDE 3.1 Released

Its about bloody time if you ask me. I just don't want to compile from source, so I'll have to wait until I'm using slack again, or until Yoper final release comes out.

I noticed they have Debian Woody version for 3.1...interesting.

And I'm running it... optimized and all...

Must say so far they have corrected some of the errors that annoyed me in the RCs.

    Re:KDE 3.1 Released

Here is a working Debian mirror:

    Code:
    deb http://download.at.kde.org/pub/kde/stable/3.1/Debian/ dists/woody/main/binary-i386/
But as you would expect, it is slow as hell right now. Might want to wait a day or two....

Here's a new feature guide. It sure looks (reads) impressive. But the announcements for new KDE releases always made me want to try it out again. However, after a short time I always went back to using fvwm ... let's see how it goes this time.
