    enable GUI

    hi,
    i tried the command "Xconfigurator" in Redhat 8 and it says that command not found ???
    any help?

    its says :
    couldn't start x server, trying with a fresh configuration
    *dccprobe return bogus values:
    ID:none
    name:none
    HorizSync:none
    VertSysnc:none

    any idea?

    i am using vmware to install the OS.
    anybody has done it before?

    ah - you are running vmware on a non-linux platform and you wish to have linux be one of the vm-machines. yes - people have done this before, i have not though.

    Use the CLI command 'setup' instead of the XFree86 config tools.

    Looks like the install is going just fine. You just need to setup to X server.

    when run setup, i can't find an option to configure X server?

    the vmtools should have come with vmware
