Shutup. Shutup Shut the hell up.
I went from an uncapped cable modem, to 28.8. I had a happy dance getting a friends 56K to use. I will hurt people if I dont get DSL/Cable soon ...

I went back to Beckville this weekend. After having pages pop up instantly, I went back to being able to see them slowly fill in. I've only been on this T-carrier for a week, so I could still handle dial-up, but I can tell that when I have to move back this summer, it's going to be hell. HELL I say!
SHUUUUSHHHHH! My mighty 40kbps will slay thee! I am sooo looking forward to going to Korea so that I can get DSL. I hope my wife lets me have enough money each month so that I can afford it. Budgets, hrmph.
Now that's just plain sad. You have to go to Korea to get broadband. What the hell's wrong with this country?

Though it wasn't how I would have liked. I have to share it with the other college students. But www.speedtest.com said I transferred at nearly 1 mbps so I have most of this T-1 to myself. It sure as hell beats 26k.

Heh, speedtest says my home cable connect is 2.4mbps =)

I downloaded the Samba tarbell (over 4 megs) in 6 seconds. It was at a rate of 688 kilobytes per second. I nearly dropped a piece of fecal matter into my pants when I saw that. That's well above T-1 speed.

Question:
When you say "688 kilobytes per second" you are referring to 688K or 68K ?

This country that you are referencing is actually Turkey, not the USA.

I'm referring to 688K. Just look at the numbers. Downloading 4 megs in 6 seconds is more than half a meg per second. That's the fastest though. It fluctuates a lot. The slowest I've gotten while downloading from a server I believe to have more bandwidth than me is around 60 kilobytes per second. Coming from dial-up where I got around 3 k/s, that's freakin sweet.
