Aside airflow it would take up less space, not a bad idea for a person who doesn't have much.

Maybe to help airflow you could put a couple of vents in the top, running right through it, they would look like air intakes on a vehicle Put in a couple of big fans, give it wings and you have a flying spherical PC

But the imac isn't shiny, and we all know that the only thing that matters is how glossy the paint is ;D
