How do I tell the CPU speed?

Hi, I am trying to find out the CPU speed on this Linux box and a SCO UNIX box. I have tried the uname -a and even uname -X on an old SCO box. It returns either i386 or i80386 on the SCO box. Well I know that much > Does anyone know how to find the actual speed? Thanks in advance.

Thanks cloverm! Just as a note. If you type hw at a shell on a SCO UNIX box, it tells you the same info as catting cpuinfo.

i think it was aimed for you. POST being when the computer first turns on and it says 200MHz foo or whatever.

Ahhh I see. Thanks Gorn. I am in the enviornment that I can't reboot the machine to see the boot messg so I needed a way to do it while the box is up. But anyway, thanks for the input.

There's also the dmesg | more for finding out which speed..
