Well, I am not sure. On my 8.0 setup, I setup my dial up connection with YaST and it works fine, both from my GUI KDE system tray and from CLI.
I've got a little problem that I hope the Suse fans can help me out with. I am setup as a member of the dial-out group but I can't dial out (it says I don't have permission to and that I need to be a member of the dial-out group). What should I do? I tried using Yast to set this up. Is it best to just use the standard cli in this case? If so, which files should I give the user permission to have access to (I have never run into this permission problem before, so I am a little hazy on how to resolve it)?
Cheers

just for shits and giggles, lets see what the actual permissions are for the dialing app. Perhaps there is where the problem lies. I dont recall having any issues with suse in the past, but maybe the perms got screwed. Plus try logging out and then back in. I do recall that there were a few times in the past where I needed to relog in to make changes work on my user account.
