IYO, What is the best printer spooling protocol??

There are many listed on Linuxprinting.org but I just wonder what you guys think .... I'm currently reading Linuxprinting HOWTO but it is taking a long time with my little spare time ...

didn't vote but both cups and LPRng have worked fine for me. mind you lprng seems to require me to dump the finished jobs manually. this is a bit of a pain as after two different jobs sent up no more can be done until the spool is cleaned out.

cups either is a charm to use or it doesn't work at all.

turboprint has worked for me too.

    don't know the others.
