    I used to have Epson Stylus 640 printing from linux. Now I have a Epson EPL5800L Laser printing and I'm kicking myself. According to linuxprinting.org, EPL5800 works perfectly with linux but EPL5800L is a paperweight > Now, I'm stuck.

    I'm open to any suggestions. ;D

    Yeah, the L ( stands for light ) versions of printers are stripped out the PS support ( and sometimes processing chips ) from the printer so it's harder to get them working without extensive software emulation support.

    I'm open to any suggestions. ;D
    As they suggested, use as a paperweight? :P

    May be you can trade with someone who only use Windows ....
