hello,
you can type anything in this box. e.g. right next door to.... or in pbharris' home or right behind me!!. you get the idea/
How do I get the location (in terms of port) of my HP OfficeJet G85 printer on my Debian box? I am using the browser-based CUPS utility (http://localhost:631/) to add a printer, but need the printer's location. I've looked in some documentation, please help.

thanks pbharris. man, i feel like a foolwhen i think of Location i think of giving a path to the location of the printer
i remember adding a printer months ago, using the CUPS browser tool. it was with this very same printer. the problem i am having now is that although i selected the location of the printer in the Device: drop-down box, the next section only gave three possible printer drivers for my HP OfficeJet G85 printer/copier/scanner/fax machine. how do i get the drivers that i need to show up?
hello,
i just choose my printer model, in your case it looks like the driver may be hpoj http://www.linuxprinting.org/show_pr...?recnum=421906 and http://hpoj.sourceforge.net/ has good details.
