Soundblaster Live! and RH8

Ok.. I have a soundblaster live card and RH8 detects it fine. But I don't have sound. What do I do to enable sound? I have set the option to startup the sound server on startup but get nothing. Am I missing something fundamental here?

Is the emu10k1 module loading at startup? I remember some people having trouble with RH and SBL. I think there are a few threads on it in the tech support section.
You can check what module is loaded by, from a console, typing "lsmod"

I belive you should also have sound, ac97_codec, ac97, and soundcore as well.

1. turn up the volume if ya haven't tried that ive it a shot.
here are the modules i have loaded, like the other folks said, in a terminal type /sbin/lsmod to see what you have
here is what i have relevant to sound:

I think you mean emu101k, my sbl worx fine w/ rh8..
