linux apache+php connecting to MS SQL server

I have a Slackware webserver running Apache and PHP4. I want to be able to connect to a M$ SQL server while serving up db driven stuff. Don't ask about the combo please, it just gets me angry.

Any ideas on how to do this? The php.net site says it can be done, but their vauge instructions and user comments aren't working for me. PHP+Apache+MSSQL+Win2k works really well, and very easy to setup (go figure).

I have the commands at home on a disk that came with this PHP book i have entitled, "Read Less, Learn More : PHP". Email me at ldoss@carolina.rr.com, or IM me (you may have to bugg me about it Im very absent minded), and I'll send them to you.

If theres a need, I can turn the data into a PET
