    how to apt-get java

    hello,

    i added the source
    deb ftp://metalab.unc.edu/pub/linux/deve...own.org/debian woody non-free

and when i try to get java by apt-get install j2re1.3 i get

Sorry, but the following packages have unmet dependencies:
j2re1.3: Depends: j2se-common (> 1) but it is not installable
    E: Sorry, broken packages
    root@libranet:/home/sd#

the package j2se-common is nowhere to be found so i tried using synaptic and it crapped out complaining that the msstcorefonts couldnt be gotten( guess the source was down)

    heres the code:

what do i need to do to get this working? sorry this post is so long. i would get the .bin file but that kind defeats the purpose of using apt-get.
    any help appreciated.

ok, this is a stupid one. i got the problem solved but when i get the java agreement it just has (END) at the bottom and im left with a console that i cant do shit with!!

duh. what key do i need to use? not space bar, end, return, etc.
    god i suck

in the past when ive installed it i just used enter to get past the agreement after i typed yes.

You can install java 1.1.8 with debian using the main debian archive, they just haven't upgraded to java 2 yet, although they are working on it.
