Gee, I wonder where they got the idea for multiple desktops...
Is it just me, or does this new Windows shell look a lot like KDE?

i think those are real - are those really mulitple desktops?
I'll stick with KDE thanx. That's too um...fluffy...for my liking.
There were reasons I left windows behind ... and this is now another one to stay away ...

One of the many things that I don't like about XP is the vomitous looking colored Explorer shell and the new Start menu. Call me a minimalist if you will, but I think that these overly pimped out desktops are clumsy and anoying and that the original Win95 shell with the simple taskbar and Start menu was just fine. Guess that's why my Linux desktop always tends to look a lot like classic Windows, be it IceWM or KDE, or even fvwm back in the old days.
That looks like someone took KDE and slapped a few XP logos on it. And whats with the huge clock on the side?
Yup those are authentic, did you notice fixKLEZ in My Documents? ;D
XP does multiple desktops already I found out last night when I was at a friends house. He said he installed something i think called Powertools or some shit for XP. And multiple desktops came with it. MS really wants to step the competition up a notch.

Preach on...
I think that XP looks like something for a Fisher Price or a Tonka Computer for 5 year olds. It has to be all flashy and babyish.... come on!!
Perhaps usability should be the first goal instead of showability
