    Transferring files with ssh

I have to transfer files back and forth to a server that doesn't have FTP service, only ssh. Can somebody tell me how to transfer files with ssh?

sftp will allow you to put and receive files, and scp will allow you to copy them to the remote box.

    One question.

Are there sftp server daemons out there or does sftp primarily just interface /w SSH?

It just interfaces with ssh, it's a subsystem, you can turn it on/off in the sshd.conf
