    How do you unistall software compiled from source? This is another of those good to know things.

    Many of the packages comes with instruction on how to remove their specific software packages in either README or INSTALL file. Or otherwise, it's manual deletion of files.

    the occasional package also has a "make uninstall" or "make deinstall" option, give these commands a shot.

    i use checkinstall with every source package i make. it makes life much easier. it is one sweet app.
