Linux will be the main operating system for IBM's upcoming family of "Blue Gene" supercomputers--a major endorsement for the operating system and the open-source computing model it represents.
Looks like IBM is really putting their money where their mouth is on this one. Bravo. Of course, we are getting used to the idea of great big iron being powered by Linux. I hope that I never lose the child-like wonder that I have whenever I hear a story about the os that I run on my personal computer being used to power advanced nuclear explosion or human genome modeling. Wow. I guess I'll get really amazed when I get a Linux powered handheld. From something that small to a computer with tens of thousands of high-powered processors. Try that M$!

Cheers
