    Mail configuration (mutt/qmail)

I am trying to get email working properly on my Linux box. I have an email adres from my ISP, but I cannot get it configured to use that adres.

Example: I have an email adres first.last@isp.com but I can only send email as loginname@localhost

The software I use to send email is mutt and qmail.

I really want to use a local SMTP server (as opposed to SMTP server from my ISP) to be able to send email when offline.

Allright then, do tell me me where to find it. Because I have read the mutt docs (I did that even before I posted, I would never ask such a question without RTFM)

The only thing I could find was the 'hostname' configuration option, to change the right hand side part of the address, but not the left hand side.
I also tried pine, and it seems like it's the same problem there.

It's ok now. I used some of qmail's environment variables to fix it. Although that looks more like a hack than it's an option

I *think* if you put my_hdr From: John Doe <john.doe@foo.org> should do the trick..

You would only have to add it to your .muttrc
