Do you have directpc or directv dsl? I noticed that directv-dsl supports linux, but it's not avaliable in my area. Directpc, however had no info on linux support....

    Re:How do you connect?

    DSL

    1.5Mbps Download
    128Kbps Upload

All you people running off the other Bell companies, you suck!!!! They give you 256Kbps upload, but us SouthWestern peeps get fux0red with the 128. :P

I was thinking about getting sattilite, but then I remembered how well it worked with TV on an overcast day. Not exactly something I'd want to use.

ATTBI Cable ( and Cable TV for Free ;D ).

I used to use DirectTV DSL ( formerly Telocity ) and I'm happy with it but my apartment now can't have DSL ( I'm far too away with 2000 ft over the DSL's fartherst capability ).

    Re:How do you connect?

I voted DSL which isn't exactly true. As of now I'm connected with dual channel isdn (128kbit up and down) but I ordered a 1MBit down/128kbit up aDSL connection and it should be setup any day now. I already have a Mentor MR4 router with integrated DSL modem... Can't wait to go broad band... No more waiting three hours for apt-get upgrade to complete YAY

How would you like to connect this way: http://www.80211-planet.com/columns/article.php/1454991
There is, of course, a Linux connection to this story.

All of you with nice cable or DSL access are bastards. Yes -- bastards. I am forsaken to staying at work late to surf the net (all of you in #ljr and #screamingelectron all know ...) All of you can rot in hell for all eternity for having faster net connections to the Geek Lord of the Midwest. Bastards.

Here, here! Well, all except the Geek Lord of the Midwest thing. At least when I connect I get around 40k. Lord, what I would do for a dsl connection. Then I could rule the world! Or at least surf the world in style! ;D

I connect at 26k. (Yes, I have a 56k modem. My phone lines are multiplexed.) But in January, I'll be chilling at SFA soaking up the T-1.
