I believe he uses Mandrake - he said that he just wanted something that works because he doesn't have time to play around with things and just wants his OS to work. (I believe that is his work box at Transmeta)
I was just curious as to what flavor of linux does Linus use. Does he use a custom built, such as LFS or RH?
Anybody know?

Well, he might use Mandy now, but I guess he must qualify as the original LFS'er![]()
actually, the last I heard he uses SUSE

That's what I heard as well.
Right now I think he uses SuSE, but he has used RedHat and Mandy in the past (or so I've heard).
one things for sure... I'm glad his system just works, so he can spend all that spare time of his developing 2.5
Ok, he supposely use Suse at home and RedHat with Transmeta or whateva that company he works for.
Just a nice tidbit to know! ;D

Yeah you would think he have a hellava custom built system at home anyway! ;D
To his credit he has created the soul of the beast that will take down the Redmond beast. But with full distros, he's in the same boat as us minions. He doesn't work on full distros themselves so he has to choose just like the rest of us. I doubt you could consider what the man uses for his personal distro as some kind of "Good Housekeeping Seal of Approval." Hell I've got my Debian and Mandrake installs tinkered so they work almost identical, aside from supermount and my sound server issue in Debian.
