    getdef_bool how do i use?

pam you've been very helpful with my latest C project, know anything about this? *hopes*

getdef_bool is used in libshadow/libmisc to read /etc/login.def i'm writting a program that needs libshadow and libmisc and it fails to link because getdef_bool is undefined. grep'ing it found nothing in /lib /usr/lib and /usr/local/lib or in /usr/include /usr/src/include

shadow compiles just fine, any ideas? thanks

    pam get's less helpful...
have you tried "-lshadow" and "-lmisc" in your gcc command line? (not necessarily in that order)
Having said that, the fact that you can't find any reference to this symbol does not bode well. If you can, check the documentation for these libraries for all dependencies to make sure you have correct versions of everything.

yea i was doing that and so unsure as to why it wouldn't work. order matters only gcc a.c -lmisc -lshadow -lcrypt works other order and it dies.
