Just to add another post to my count ;D I feel compelled to add this little tidbit of info :

If you have an entry in your fstab -- you can do a mount mountpoint.

So, if /dev/cdrom is mapped to mount to /mnt/cdrom a mount /mnt/cdrom will mount it properly.

thanks 4 the help dudes, the first time compiled the Nvidia tar balls I got a error that said something to the effect that it was compiled using a different version, I added the source 4 the kernel and viola it did work and I did a mount /dev/cdrom /mnt/cdrom and that got me installed, then for some weird reson I used the security udater for mdk 9.0 and now I don't have any sound in the game or on my box, I tried reconfiguring and I really don't want to re-install the game any help or suggestions would be highly appreciated?? thx again

oops, I forgot to say that I did plug in a usb device prior to losing my sound, it was the Micro$oft Digital Sound System

unreal in a tournament style fashion?

I'm more concerned with the quality of the game play... is it as great as the good old Tourny - because in order to run it I will have to get a new videocard... so we're talking quite and investment on a students budget.

its pretty good. I got the demo only still, and it runs fairly well on my GeForce2 TI 64MB DDR. I can run 7 bots and myself solo play doing the team deatmatch without any slowdown.
