    Sound problem with debian 3.0

    Hi!

I have a problem with our new debian 3.0 box. I have a TerraTec 128iPCI soundcard in it, but somehow it doesn't work the way I want it.

During installation I loaded the esssolo1 module and what I can tell from "lsmod" everthing looks fine:

    Code:
    tesla:/# lsmod
Module Size Used by Not tainted
    esssolo1 25504 0
    gameport 1308 0 [esssolo1]
    soundcore 3236 4 [esssolo1]
    keybdev 1664 0 (unused)
    usbkbd 2848 0 (unused)
    input 3072 0 [keybdev usbkbd]
    usb-uhci 20708 0 (unused)
    usbcore 48032 0 [usbkbd usb-uhci]
    tesla:/#
The thing is, when I do a "cat sample.au >/dev/audio" I only hear noise ... I tested the same .au file on another computer and it works fine. I've also tried other soundfiles...same problem.

Is there something else that need to be done except loading the module? The module loads without an error, and I'm actually able to hear something, but only noise

Btw: This is a default installation - no X, kde, gnome,...

    Any hints appreciated..thnx!
