Can it run Windows programs?
I would only get Lindows if I wanted a really cheap PC or laptop. And even then I'd probably wipe it off and install Win XP Pro or Debian over it.
Lindows 2.0 looks cool, I have to admit. The company has stopped aping KDE and gotten a desktop look that is more its own. Lindows has made scant concessions to the knowledgeable, allowing for a somewhat more advanced setup configuration. I'm still concerned for the newbies, though.

From what I've heard it's Windows program support is just as good as wine is. So installing wine on your favorite distro will give you all the advantages of Lindows, without the disadvantages.
Man, it had sooo much promise, it's too bad that it negates one of the really great things about Linux (the limited capability of a default user). It pretty much sacrifices Linux on the Microsoft alter of software engineering. >![]()
He pissed me off, not by charging, which is his perogative and will work (provided the $$ is a bit less, like 40 a year, not 150). But rather, the bastard is filthy rich, and could very easily have funded the one thing that could take windows down -- wine. Get an army of deveolpers and code away. But no, it wasnt a get rich scheme. THAT is what pissed me off.
