Does the Compiler that comes with most distro's work with c or just c++?

gcc work with C and C++ Gnu Common Compiler is what gcc stands for i think...

thanks pb. I wasnt sure, as im just now getting into Linux (thanx to me bro, Mountainman).Im trying to incorporate as many books laying around as possible.
