Ok, my original simple question has taken a new life of its own. A little while ago, I updated rpm to rpm 4 on my RH 6.2 server. Now, when I use the menus to go to GnoRPM, it doesn't work; I presume because the old rpm program doesnt work. So, I was going to ask, how can I point GnoRPM to rpm4.
Then, I started perusing the topics here in the X and window managers forum. I noticed a reference to Gnome2. Would it make more sense to upgrade my Gnome to Gnome2? I know there are thoughts about KDE vs Gnome, but since I've used Gnome for a while, I figured I would stick with it.
Is it worth the upgrade? Is the upgrade easy? Any pitfalls to watch out for? Comments?
Thanks.
