    USB modem

    Hi

Installed Linux on my 2 computers and bought a 56k hardware external modem to replace my PCI winModem, now I have an ASDL connection and bought a ASDL modem -Conexiant USB/ASDL-, it is not recognized by Mandrake is there a workAround for this as I cannot afford to keep buying new modems but would like to use Linux as my main OS.

    Re:USB modem

If I am not mistaken, you will need to find some kind of usb ethernet driver as well as a driver for the specific chipset used by the usb modem. Check this link out: http://www.mbsi.ca/cnxtlindrv/index.html. It is a link to the conexant driver "project". I doubt that it will help too much, but, it might get you going in the right direct (it's intended for internal pci modems).

    Cheers
