    NFS and connectivity

On a RedHat 7.3p server and workstation combination (experimental network), I have installed NFS on the server and
configured three directories for export. When I tried a manual mount of the /pub dir. from the workstation
(mount server:/pub /pub) I got the message "can't get the address for server". Both dir exist, the one on the server
has a test file in it, the workstation is an empty dir. The host file on the wks has entries for lo, the wks, and
the server. The host.conf file entry is "hosts, bind".
Secondary question: if I in fact need a DNS server for name resolution, I have installed Bind and configured it
thru bindconf. Yet it seems I have no named running. Do you see named or bind in the bootup screens if it is running?
    I don't.
I'm fairly new to Linux, this is work being done at an internship/volunteer position for learning purposes, mine and
my boss. Any help is appreciated.

You might try making sure the server's host file has those entries as well, I've noticed Redhat has some problems with authentication when local hosts aren't in all the host files.

    Re:NFS and connectivity

I've solved this problem with the proper entries in the hosts files and no TYPO'S. I'm now going to add another post about portmapper.
    Thanks
