    Re:GUI E-mail Clients

    KMail

Have a look at this thread: http://www.linuxjunior.org/yabbse/in...d=4738;start=0

You may be able to get it to work with other e-mail clients using that method.

    Re:GUI E-mail Clients

When I run kmail I get this:
    Code:
    duster:~$ kmail
    DCOPServer up and running.
kdecore (KIconLoader): ERROR: Error: standard icon theme "hicolor" not found!
kio (KMimeType): WARNING: KServiceType::offers : servicetype KDEDModule not found
kdecore (KIconLoader): ERROR: Error: standard icon theme "hicolor" not found!
kdecore (KIconLoader): ERROR: Error: standard icon theme "hicolor" not found!
    QFile::open: No file name specified
In file tools/qgarray.cpp, line 126: Out of memory
DCOP aborting (delayed) call from 'anonymous-8029' to 'kmail'
    ERROR: KUniqueApplication: DCOP communication error!
duster:~$ Mutex destroy failure: Device or resource busy
kdeinit: Fatal IO error: client killed
    kdeinit: sending SIGHUP to children.
    kdeinit: sendin
Now I am running blackbox when I try to start it. Haven't tried it in kde

    Re:GUI E-mail Clients

I have debian and I will later post the exact packages... But all I did is apt-get install kmail. What packages did I need to install?

BTW has anyone configured spamassasin with evolution?

well u need to have some base kde packages in order to run any kde program. i don't know how debian calls them but u need arts, kdelibs and kdebase

doesn't apt usually take care of dependencies?

    Re:GUI E-mail Clients

At this time avoid evolution. It is nice and all, but if you wanna change email clients, your are pretty much shit outta luck. I got tired of Evolutions' speed issues on my work box here, and pretty much was fucked when trying to migrate it to anything else. I would have gone with anything, but KMail and Sylpheed, and Balsa just couldnt import. And there is no export feature in evo. So....

Just a friendly warning. I would presume that within the next year the issues have would be solved already, but who knows for sure...
