hello,
these used the ess solo sound modules, i am not sure of much more, should work fine
Anyone have any ideas on getting the onboard sound on an ASUS P5A mobo to work? Tutorials, tips, anything would be much appreciated.

Okay, I got it up and running with a little help from Tully on IRC, thanx for the info!
K, so my sound works, but it makes some rumbling noises whenever the computer is "thinking", not too loud, but it's quite noticable when coming out of my surround sound, anywho, this didn't happen in win98 at all, but today i installed win 2000 pro on my windows partition and it's doing it under win2k aswell, any ideas?
I had that happen to me.. Open a mixer and mute the cdrom...
hmmm, I muted all sounds (includeing the cdrom) and it still happens, anyone else have any ideas?
If you have a few bucks to spend, buy a PCI sound card that is supported by Linux and deactivate the onboard sound. You might be able to pick up a used sound card at a nearby PC shop for very few bucks.
Yeah, i'm probably gonna end up getting a new sound card, I have a friend who is getting a new comp, so he's chopping up his old PC and will probably give me the hard drive / ram / modem / sound card, if that falls through I will probalby end up buying a new card eventually. Thanx for the input!
