LIBRANET NEWSLETTER August 25, 2002

Welcome to the Libranet newsletter.

---------------------------------
BETA TESTING 2.7

Libranet 2.7 has been released for beta testing. From the reports we
have there are a few things that need fixing and we are preparing a beta2
release with the changes. The beta testers are providing us with fast
turnaround of testing so we expect to start shipping the final version
at the end of August or more likely the first week of Sept.

---------------------------------
MANY IMPROVEMENTS in 2.7

We think 2.7 is by far the best Libranet release ever.

A few features:
KDE 3.0.3
GNOME 2.0.1
Kernel 2.4.19
New adminmenu functions like firewall setup.
Much smoother install with a brand new disk/partition setup program.
Openoffice 1.0.1

---------------------------------
YOU CAN PRE-ORDER 2.7

You can pre-order Libranet 2.7 at:
https://libranet.com/cgi-bin/pre-order.cgi

Existing users can order at a reduced price.

We hope everyone will purchase Libranet 2.7 and show their ongoing support.
We need and appreciate your support. Thank you.

---------------------------------
UPDATING A RUNNING 2.0 SYSTEM

While we much prefer a fresh install, it is possible to update 2.0 to 2.7.
We will be posting a guide for help in doing this. The proceedure involves
running apt-get and dpkg so you should first be familiar with using these
programs. We will not be able to provide support for this process.
