    wierd resolving problems

okay I have a FQDN called btshadows.net it is associated with my static ip address.

You can access my website in a blink of an eye (you may want to continue blinking once it loads (YUCK)) but when someone trys to telnet into my MultiUser Dungeon game
    telnet://btshadows.netortnumber it takes FOREVER

If they try to telnet via the ip address and the portnumber zip right in.

What is hosed and how do I fix it?

    Oh yeah running RH7.3

I would have to ask if it is a DNS issue? Their DNS may be laggy, but as long as your DNS name has been around for more than a week or so, I wouldnt expect it to be that bad. What if the user puts your IP in as a hosts entry? Like me -- if I add you to my /etc/hosts file would that speed it up (no DNS lookup really)?

Maybe I need to add my IP to my /etc/hosts and make sure it understands that it is the same as my domain name?
