They should compile fine under Yellow Dog but compiling under OS X may not work. If you've used FreeBSD before you'll understand. Some source code needs modifying before it will compile on BSD. Most things should work fine, but some don't.
I got a question. I see that there is a lot of apps that you can compile in a mac does that mean in like in Yellow Dog Linux or like in Mac OS X?

I have thought that whenever I get a large sum of money I will get a mac. I really like osX and would love to put yellow dog on the mac I would buy. Now in mac is there such a thing as dual booting? Excuse my ignorance
I can't tell you for sure, but I would think you could dual boot on a mac. I know that on older macs (without new world rom's) you had to boot into macOS first, and then linux/bsd/whatever from there. I have netBSD on a 68k mac and that's the case. I think on the newer macs (G3 + i believe) you can dual boot though, please somebody correct me if i'm wrong.
I'm pretty sure you can. If Macs were cheap (like pc cheap), I'd have one quicker than you could say 'Pineapples'
Well, first of all, yes a "Brand New" Mac is a little more than you hope to pay for a system, but you can always buy a cheap one on eBay that will suit all your needs and more. For example, you can buy a PowerMac 7200 160MHz for about $100 with everything. Yeah that's seems pretty slow, but remember, these are Mac's with RISC processors we are talking about (It will run YDL 2.3 without a problem). The 7200 you can also upgrade to 1Gig of RAM, and even get a G4 800MHz upgrade for it!! (Soon to be 1GHz, as soon as Sonnet releases it) Even now you can buy a G4 500MHz upgrade for it for about $100 on eBay, or about $100 more from a retailer. So right there you would have spent $200-300 on a Mac almost on the cutting edge!I have thought that whenever I get a large sum of money I will get a mac. As for dual-booting, it's almost required when dealing with older systems. There is a program that YDL comes with called BootX that once you turn it on, it pops-up a screen kinda like GRUB asking if you want to run MacOS, Linux, or mkLInux. Couldn't get any better. (Well, maybe) ;D
That's cool I might just get on e-bay and get myself a $100 mac box. That would be cool..
Here's a few to show you what they are going for Gmoreno.
