    SAMBA Printing trouble

    Ok. Finally got my SAMBA network working pretty well now except for one thing. I'm using my Win machine as a print server (what else can you do with it? :P ), and my SuSE box prints fine to it, but my RH box does not. It will go through a print test, and the printer reacts about 5 seconds later, and acts like it's going to print like any other time until it gets to the part where it's actually going to print. Once it get's to that part, it just stops. If I look at the printer processes in Win, it shows it queued, and then disappears. Both boxes are using 'lpd', and both use the exact same NIC. Any ideas?

    Also, in my process management, is says:

    6291 lp 15 lpd waiting

    Actually there may be a real easy one for this. When you do the share, type it in like this in RedHats printconf-gui tool.

    For NEtBIOS name BeerBong @ whatever IP (irreleavent for m point)

    //BeerBong/HP

    That's how I have it connected in the first place. It sends the transmission, but it stops at the printer. It starts the spool, but doesn't print anything, just sits there looking stupid.

    Re:SAMBA Printing trouble

    is LPD started okay on the client? That seemed to be a problem with my work box. I didnt have LPD started correctly and it wouldnt print to the winders box. Occasionally the daemon wold get "stuck" and need a restart too. Dunno why. But a LPD restart in the printconf-gui should have taken care of that, when you mad e achange and tried to print. Hmmm. lemme check that linuxprinting.org or whatever and see what they reccommend. IIRC there were a few tricks to the printer (which we have at work here and NEVER wanted to print from RedHat, Slack, or SuSE).
