1. Home - Usually Opera, Gaim, irssi, and a couple aterms.
2. Transfers - Bittorrent, P2P, FTP.
3. Development - Where I plunk Bluefish for my Web work.
4. Design - Where I plunk The Gimp to do any design or photo editing.
5. Documents - Where I use OpenOffice or anything other type of document that needs my attention.
6. Media - Where XMMS resides, Gump3d, and a couple aterms for getting at other media files.
7. Administration - where I put the terminal that's doing my Gentoo compiles.
8.
Number one appears with a couple of Eterms that I use for general stuff. Generally 2 gets firefox and xchat, and 8 might get xmms (potentially running from my fileserver using X forwarding). This allows for easy mouse scrolling between desktops around these three points in fluxbox, and is more of an evolution rather than by design.
The rest are used for more serious applications :P I don't recall ever using all 8, but it's better to have too much space than too little. I've come close, once or twice though![]()

Pretty much fluxbox default. I usually only use two or three...
1. 6 or 7 Eterms
Firefox
xcdroast
2. Firefox
the gimp
3... whatever else
I hate switching and minimizing so that's with 3 monitors set to something like 3840x1024... leaves a lot of space.
At work its more like:
1. 4 Gterms and sylpheed
2. 4 Gterms and firefox
3. 2-3 rdesktops
4. else
That's with 2 monitors at something like 2048x768 I think...
With the laptops/single screen machines, at least the ones that run X its something like:
1. 3 Eterms, Gaim, GKrellm
2. Firefox
3. The other Firefox
4. else
I've never been very clean with fluxbox, never used "remember" or anything so its usually a cluttered mess.

Finegan

For some reason, I never seem to use virtual desktops. The good ol' minimise and maximise do me fine!

I quit using virtual desktops when I got my TwinView. I just use the mouse wheel to "roll up" Thunderbird and Firefox when I'm not using them and use the space for whatever I'm working on. See my screenshot to see how it's set up.
