    Scary to say the least.

It's just that I love playing games and having a decent web browser.

I guess Mozilla has support for shock and all that decent stuff, but even that's slow.

The best thing is to keep it on another machine and learn, and then go from there.

I'm using Netscape 6.2 these days, and it quite able to stand up to IE in every respect and is better in many.

Re:M$ is starting to piss people off really bad!!!

Since I started this, here is my take:

I made the move to Linux after I built a PC to replace my aging Mac PowerPC in 1999. I installed Windows 98 in it, and hated it. At the time, I was using NT 4.0 at work, and I figured 98 would be much the same. Wrong.

I looked at getting NT for my home box, but that would have cost as much as the box did, so I started poking around with Linux. Now, three years later, I would not even consider a M$ OS, even if the serious moral issues and civil liberties problems with M$ were not there. I prefer my SuSE 8.0 system over the Windows box at work hands down, and even have Linux at work for much of my stuff.

But, had 98 been as stable and usable as NT, I may not have been pushed to try Linux then, though this new crap with XP and the EULA would have pushed me over now, had I not converted back then.

More rambling thoughts from cga. ;D

Re:M$ is starting to piss people off really bad!!!

Goughmezz: in SP3, there's a new clause in the EULA that states something like "Microsoft has the right to download patches on your computer at its discretion". This means that they could install Digital Rights Management patches (preventing you from doing many things, eg: mp3 sharing) without your prior consent, without you even knowing! How evil is that?
They already did that so far. If you try to play an MP3, or send it to someone, and XP has not seen you rip it from your system, it will force you to fill out a web-based from proving that you legally own the CD, and copied it from your CD before you can even play the file.

One thing I remember happened on my Win box. It of course crashed, and a hidden dialog surfaced with the name "You Are Not Suppose To See This!!!". I did not authorize a download of any updates, but for some reason it was adding a .NET update that I was not going to know about.

I'll bet that's especially true when not running on a Windows box?

personally i don't understand why anyone would use netscape instead of mozilla either since they're both almost identical, except for the fact that mozilla is less slow
