    Well, I don't really need the FTP, but as a learning experience it is quite good. It never hurts to know extra crap. But in this case its not crap so it must be even better to know.

    puTTY for windows boxes is great for ssh/ftp. However all windows flavors have an ftp utility that will work. Plus IE has ftp support. I still reccommend doing ssh/sftp. Its not that hard on your end. For example, just configure real quick your ssh config (in your /etc dir) and start your sshd daemon. Ftp pretty much the same, but its always a good idea to chroot the users, so they cant hack you with as much ease.
