App that cap past together movies

Hi,

Is there an app that can 'paste' together mgp's or wmv's in Linux.

I have a bunch of short clips that I'd like to paste together.

But if you want them searchable, then you need the mpeg equivalent of avifiles.

Sorry I can't remember what its called.
