I'm thinking of getting a 21" screen, because I fell in love with the one at work doing CAD stuff.
So what are your opinions? Is a 21" screen worth far more than the double price of a 19"?
I got a 17" now.
And what about twin monitors. Is the experience increased much with two 17" monitors instead of one?
Guess this question's a bit odd, but let's blame it on me being tired![]()
no...
I second LC. Go buy a used one for half of a 19". A friend of mine got a 21" IBM for $250 and it is great. No defects. The company was closing its doors, and had several photoshop stations that had HUGE screens. He got the last one (bastard....).
I'm pathetic I still have a 10 year old 15' monitor...
Dont feel bad. I keep blowing my paychecks on beer and computer shit. Thank the lord that Linus and BSD are free. I would be piss broke if I had to pay $200 every couple months to RedHat when they release a new version![]()

If you had to pay that, would you really be using RedHat?
sadly yes. Although OpenBSD would be on more boxes ;D
Get dual 17"s CRT or dual 15"s LCD![]()

Yeah, that dual screen stuff seems pretty darn cool too. Wonder how good it would look if you watched a movie across two 17" CRTs, disturbing I guess.
But for normal desktop apps and stuff it would be an alternative to one larger screen.
That new Matrox card (Parhelia) that supports three screens would also be 1337, but I guess I could buy a 21" screen for that price...

Ahh, come on, how can you be pathetic when you have a 15 foot monitor? ;D
Don't feel bad, I have a six year old 17" monitor and a three year old 15" monitor. Your monitor is more than adequate (though not as much fun). Of course the weather shop that is across the hall from my office has about four or five workstations with dual 21" Trinitron monitors. I am definitely jealous of them.
Cheers.
