How does W4L run? Better than VMWare?

    I use 99% windows
I like linux because the OS in itself is pretty interesting. But, after I've started using a linux distro, I always buy a game or something so I have to boot back into windows and I don't see a point in constantly rebooting just to get to linux again after playing.
I also think Windows XP/2000 is a close to perfect OS for my needs, even if it isn't as interesting as linux ;-)
And now I recently bough a PocketPC handheld, and I doubt there is a ActiveSync for linux
But I'll always try new interesting distros, because trying new OSes is one of my bigger interests.

And, yeah, PuTTY rules! I use it to connect to my FreeBSD server all the time.

    Re:How Many Still Use Win32

First: Ashcrow, your avatar is cool.

Second: I still have to use Win98 at home, due to the fact that I have to use crappy Office apps at work (my wife hates it when I spend my off time at work doing forms and reports). Of course, I use Office95 with the Word97 conversion. So, everytime my boss opens one of the reports that I've written he has to convert it to the proper Word97/2000 format. Just my little way of getting back at him for having all those reports to do. I haven't tried to find out if my camcorder/digital camera combo can hook up to Linux or not (Panasonic DV201 or something like that). I plan on doing a google search sometime soon. It is the only thing that I need to get going before I can use all of my peripherals under Linux.

Anyway, I will probably have to use Win32 apps for quite sometime. I wish all of my games and apps worked properly under Linux, but I guess that is the price you have to pay if you want to have fun.

    Cheers

My computer has windoze on it so that I can play the odd windows game (Counterstrike, Delta Force) but I haven't actually had to use it for a while. The family computer has xp on it because one of my sisters can't use anything else. Sort of a "If it ain't broke, don't fix it/The right tool for the right job" thing.

No Windows at home. I have a 98SE system at work on a Novell server. It sucks. I hate Windows 98. I wish we had NT workstations. I consider NT 4 to be the best M$ OS.
