They arn't so much suburban redneck as they are '12 year old cool guy' IMHO. No offense to anyone who has mopeds :P

What is the price difference between a Honda motorcycle (or whatevver decent bike manufacturer) and a moped. I would think that a bike would be much more usable, and long lasting. I do realize you said 16 year old, and at least around here that means young and stupid (I was at that time and have no problems admitting it). But a bike would be more usable in the end -- Could use to goto work, go across town, actually drivable on the expressways and freeways/highways.
