Squid logging on a windows network

I'm thinking about offering to set up a caching/censoring proxy at school using Squid with squidguard. I would also like to have squidaliser or something equivalent to have some nice logs for our brainless admin. But rather than logging the IP of the boxes being used, is there some way to log the usernames being used? Tried google but didn't come up with anything.

The only way that I can think of to do this would be to look at the (not squid) logs to see who was logged into what computer at what time in order to match up IP's with usernames.

If you're lucky, you might be able to setup mysql (or whatever) and start a database that keeps track of IPs, usernames, and the packet that got logged.

Well, assuming that you are using NT/2K/XP there are ways of doing this -- just not the easiest. As Feztaa said -- you will in essence need to match up 2 logs. The best way to do it, is have the PDC/BDC dump daily the login logs and have squid do the same, and use a script too match it all up. This way, you can have it sort by priority the severity of the 'infraction'. Porn and other naughty sites can be sorted to appear first, along with bozaibuddy (evil POS crap program form hell........).

You have a great idea -- go with it
