how do I get a program to run from menu?

    Hi

I downloaded a chat program from a website. I extracted all the files.
To run it the instructions tell me to type "wish amsn"
This brings up the program but also keeps the terminal window open.
If I close the terminal window the program closes as well.

Can I set it up so I can choose the program from the menu or from the desktop
with out having to type the above commands everytime?

    Thanks
    Haggis

my sentiments exactly as the post above. if its kde you can create a shortcut on the desktop by right clicking, if its fluxbox you can just edit your menu and put the command for the chat in it. just need more info
