    starting Apache/OpenSSL deamon

    Hi,

    I have Apache 1.3.26 w/ Mod_SSL/OpenSSL

i created a self-signed certificate and have encypted sessions. However, when ever I start the apache deamon .././apachectl sslstart
it asks me for the pass phrase to the certificate. I know there is a way of creating the certificate so it doesn't ask this. Does anyone know exactly how.????

    thanx

maybe when you make the certificate /dont/ put a password? just hit enter.

i think thats what you need to do.

Nope that doesn't work. It complains that the passphrase is too long

I remember there is some switch that allows you to do this.

Does ANYBODY know what it is??????

    thanx

Never tried it but maybe something useful here.....

    http://www.caffeine.co.za/content/SS...ngopenssl.html

This links seems to have something on creating certs for postfix that don't require the pass-phrase.

    http://howto.state-of-mind.de/configuration/tls.html

Also some more stuff on creating certs for apache that require no pass phrase.
