I have to clean up the hard drives of a lot of computers we have to return to Property Accounting (you have to do this kind of thing when you work in the gov., even on machines that have been sitting there for 5 years.)
Anyway, among those machines are a couple of Digital DEC Alphastations that are set to boot up by bootstrap, directly to a server that is not there anymore. I do not even get a bios prompt.
Anyone has any idea how can I reformat, or at least destroy the partitions on these machines? I tried looking up for an alpha bootdisk, but couldn't find any. Also, I don't think they are even tring to boot from the floppy. ???
