    WineX troubles

Okay, when I'm compiling (make depend && make) WineX I get...

    make[2]: *** [glx.o] Error 1
    make[2]: Leaving directory `/home/maverick/wine/dlls/x11drv'
    make[1]: *** [x11drv/] Error 2
    make[1]: Leaving directory `/home/maverick/wine/dlls'
    make: *** [dlls] Error 2
    maverick:/home/maverick/wine #
whats up here? I'm running SuSe Linux 8.0 with an nVidia TNT2 M64 graphics card.

BTW, this is after 2-3 mins into the compilation process.

Nevermind. I got the RPM of this thing to save me the trouble. It works on Starcraft so far and I'll be installing RTCW today or tomorrow. Hopefully this was worth it...

I have never compiled it, but IIRC it has identical dependencies to wine and codeweaver's wine. Also since I pay them for the monthly fee, I get binaries (which I tend to use for simplicity). What I would like to know is how much of a performance boost one gets by compiling the source over using a rpm or deb. If it is really worth it, I may just go that route. If my games run better thats all I care if the effort isnt like 6 hours of screwing around to get an extra 3 FPS and %2 CPU cycles back.

    Ummm....Praetorian, RTCW is NATIVE...

Get the patch and your Windows RTCW CD (or a Windows install), read the instructions, and you'll be playing it native in all it's glory. I actuall finished the single player in Linux. Don't care for the multi, so I gave my key to a friend.

You can get winex from ... you'll either have to pay $5 USD for a binary or you can check out the CVS code and build it yourself for free.
