Anyone been to India? Need help picking somewhere to go

I'm looking to vacation somewhere. I need some advice as to where I should go. My father employs a person whose father owns a few hotels and a hospital in India, and I know that I could stay with them for a while if I wished. Has anyone been to India? I'm not sure if now would be the best time to make the trip though, as I wouldn't want to be nuked. Can anyone reccommend a good vacation place? Not a run of the mill place, but something kind of different...I want to experience something other than the American culture that I'm used to.

I wouldn't recomend India because of the current problems. A really cool place to check out is Tokyo, Hong Kong (I've heard it's pretty sweet there), Amsterdam, pbharrises house, and possibly some place in far south Latin America.

Have you thought about coming to Turkey? It is very cheap here. 1.4 million Turkish Lira to the dollar. Very unAmerican. You could fill up on three or four dollars worth of food. Hotels average around 40 dollars a day. Not bad. The women are very easy on the eyes. If you want to come over here, pm me and I can set you up with some info.

Yeah Turkey would be a cool place to check out too. Espcially since you could probaby get some really good advice from stryder on where to go and what to avoid!

I hear that the Kashmier region is a hot, happening kinda place. ;P

Screw that. You can spend a week at Antarctica for about $2000. That's what I call love.
