Thread: Guest ! Why am I being hunt by you guys??

Re: Guest ! Why am I being hunt by you guys??

Eh... why would anyone want to use a text browser? ???

Why would anyone want to use a graphical browser and wait for all those obsolete images and banner adds ?! Using a text browser you get the very same information in 5 times less time. Or even less.

I'll second that. Of course you need to have a text browser that displays the web pages well (:Pw3m:P for example)... If you've tried Lynx, Benny, it's no wonder you don't understand why people would want to use a text browser... I don't understand why would anyone want to use Lynx ;D

It's not so much the images that I miss when I use a text browser, it's the colors. I haven't tried w3m for more than 10 seconds yet, but all text browsers seem to lose the colors, and therefore I lose the familiarity I once had with a given website - the web just looks so boring with them. If you want to be such a text purist, you can at least turn off the graphics in all graphical browsers I've seen, and still get the familiar fonts and colors...

Besides, what if the information you wanted to see was in a picture? :P
