    how to rectify a linux machine with error messsage?
    kernel panic: VFS: Unable to mount root fs on 00:00

    hello,
    i don't think this question belongs in security - but anyway - it really sound to me like the kernel can find proper hard drive of prehaps file system modules, is this you own kernel?

    yeah, what changed? had it been working and quit after you did something? I've seen that happen when the Linux vendor changed the RAID driver and the initrd no longer loaded the right one for the new kernel. Might be just a matter of tracking down some module changes etc.

    Distro? machine particulars?
